3D Secure (3DS2) helps reduce fraudulent bookings by adding an extra layer of authentication between the cardholder and their issuing bank when processing online payments.
This article explains how to enable and use 3D Secure (3DS2) with payment gateways integrated with Homhero.
Step 1. Enable 3DS2 with Your Payment Gateway
3DS2 must first be enabled with your payment gateway provider.
- Hompay – 3DS2 is enabled by default.
- Merchant Warrior – 3D Secure must be enabled on your merchant account. To request activation, please email infoservices@merchantwarrior.com.
If you are not yet using Merchant Warrior but are interested in this payment gateway, you can register via the Homhero Merchant Warrior signup form: https://www.merchantwarrior.com/homhero-register
Step 2. Confirm 3DS2 Activation with Homhero
Once 3DS2 has been enabled with your payment gateway provider, please contact Homhero Support to ensure this is enabled via Homhero. If you are using Merchant Warrior, please forward the confirmation from Merchant Warrior showing that 3DS has been activated on your account. Homhero Support will review the configuration and confirm that everything is set up correctly.
Step 3. Enable the Payment Service
Homhero Support will enable Payment Service in the Market Place.
Note: Activating Payment Service will allow you to enter in your payment gateway details into our new Payment Service. At this point, the Payment Gateway Settings from the Payment Method Settings will be removed, therefore you will not be able to process payments during the changeover.
Step 4. Add Your Payment Gateway
Once Payment Service is available in the Marketplace, you can configure your payment gateway.
This can be completed as per the following steps:
- Click Market Place from the Homhero side menu.
- Under Payments Apps, locate and select the Payment Service Icon.
- Turn the Active toggle on.
- Select your payment gateway provider.
- Assign this as the Default payment gateway.
- Enter a Description for this payment gateway.
- Add API Key.
- Add API Pass.
- Add Merchant ID.
- Listings - This is where you would assign specific listings to this payment gateway. You would only assign specific listings in a situation where you would like funds from reservations to go into a different bank account. If you would like this to apply to all listings, you can leave as is and it will displays as ''All Unallocated Listings''.
- Once completed, click Save New.
- Repeat the steps if you are setting up multiple payment gateways.
Please Note: Homhero will automatically verify if the API credentials are successful upon clicking Save. Please contact Homhero Support if you are having issues verifying your payment gateway.
Step 5. Activate 3DS2 in Homhero
Once your payment gateway/s are active, contact HomHero Support who can verify 3DS support on your MW account and switch over use of the new 3DS enabled payment service.
3DS support can also be applied to security deposit and pre-authorisation payments, however this is an optional setting and can only be updated by Homhero Support upon request.
