The Inbox tab in Homhero's Unified Inbox is a centralised messaging hub that consolidates all communication types into one easy to use interface. This includes messages from platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, direct emails and SMS.
The main goal of the Unified Inbox is to streamline communication by allowing property managers and staff to view, respond to, and manage all messages in one place. It eliminates the need to log in to multiple platforms or juggle between different tools, significantly improving response times, reducing missed messages, and enhancing the overall guest experience.
The Inbox will be a collection of all inbound messages from Owners, Cleaners, Staff, Contractors or Guests. Below, you will find a step by step guide on the Inbox tab and how to use it:
- Click Unified Inbox from the Homhero left hand side menu.
- Click Inbox.
- Select the message you would like to view.
- If your message is not showing in the list, click the Refresh Icon above the left panel.
- You can Search for a specific message here and it will filter messages that meet the keywords you enter.
- You can select the Type of messaging to filter. You can choose from All, Email, SMS, Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo.
- Date Range Within - Select the number of days within the filters selected.
- Date Range Days - Select how you want this search to work - Around, Before or After.
- Date Range Calendar - Select the date within the calendar to apply this search to.
- Conversations View - You can choose to view your messages by Conversations. This means if there are multiple messages within the same thread, they will be combined into one conversation.
- Messages View - You can choose to view your messages by Messages. This means you will see each individual message that is part of one email thread.
- At the top of the message, you will see an Overview of the Reservation ID, name of the Guest/Owner/Cleaner/Staff. If none of the above apply, it will display as System.
- If the message was accidentally opened, you can mark the message as Unread.
- Click the Refresh Icon to refresh the UI, incase of any recent guest replies.
- Click the X Icon to close the message.
- Click the Arrow icon to to either close or expand the right hand side panel.
- If you are clicking on a reservation message, you will see a different panel open on the right with more information about the Reservation such as the Area, Address, Booking Details etc.
- An edit pencil will also appear, so you can open up the reservation directly from Unified Inbox.
- Select All - Selecting this will bring up the bulk 'With Selected' tab and will automatically select the last 50 messages.
- With Selected - This will also show when you bulk select more than 1 message. This is used to complete bulk options for messages such as archive, unarchive, mark as read or mark as unread.
- From the message itself, if you hover over it, you can mark the message as Unread.
- Or you can Archive the message from here. There is a limit of 50 messages you can archive at a time.
- If you click on a Message, a panel on the right hand side will open up. Depending on the type of message you're clicking on, this will either contain Events information (screenshot below), or an Overview of the Guest Booking, or Contact details for the Owner/Cleaner.
- On the Events panel, you will see the Send Time which will be the date and time of the message.
- You will also see the Delivery Status. Whether it was successful or not.
- You will see this Attachments that have been received for any messages here.
- You can Assign a Message to a specific staff member.
- Click the View More button to expand the message.
- Send Via - Depending on the type of message, different sending options will be available.
- Reply Box - You're able to type a quick reply into here and send from the same screen.

Reply - Click Reply to send this off.
- The More Options button will provide more sending options, such as specific templates, schedules, including CC's, subjects and more text editing options.
Email and SMS Message Screen
- Reply Type - Depending on the type of message, the reply types will differ.
- Send To - Guest, Cleaner, Owner or Staff, depending on the type of message you're attempting to send.
- Choose Template - From pre-made templates.
- Choose Schedule - From pre-made schedules.
- Email - This will auto fill from the owner/staff you've selected.
- CC - if you want to include anyone as a CC in the email list.
- Subject - Input the email subject.
- Send Me Copy - Enable this toggle if you would like to send a copy of this message to your email.
- Email Message Body - Input the message, or select a template and it will appear here.
- SMS Message Body - Input the message, or select a template and it will appear here.

Send - Send the message.
