How to add Pre Authorisation Payments using the Guest Portal

Our guest portal provides an easy-to-use online system that allows guests to handle their pre-authorisation payments efficiently. This article explains the complete process of using the guest portal to make a pre-authorisation, helping ensure a streamlined and stress-free payment experience.

Note: 3DS2 authentication is now supported for pre-authorisation payments made through the Guest Portal. This feature is only available for clients using the Merchant Warrior payment gateway.

  1. Login to the Guest Portal.


     
  2. Click Pre Authorisation Payment


     
  3. The Currently Pre-Authorised amount reflects the total that has already been authorised.
  4. The Pre-Aurthorisation Pending amount will be the remaining outstanding balance to pay.
  5. The Pre-Authorisation Note will provide more information about the Security Deposit rules.
  6. Enter the Cardholder Name.
  7. Enter the Card Number.
  8. Enter the Card Expiry.
  9. The Amount to Authorise will be displayed and automatically filled according to your security deposit rules, and the remaining outstanding balance.
  10. The Total Pre-Authorisation will be shown, including any surcharges applicable to the card type used. However, you have the option to disable surcharges on pre-authorisations within your Registration Settings.
  11. Click Authorise Now.


     
  12. After the full pre-authorisation payment is completed, Homhero will restrict access to this section, preventing further viewing.
