What is Message Digest
The Message Digest is an automated email summary that highlights unread inbound messages across your Homhero Unified Inbox. Its purpose is to ensure you never miss important guest communications especially for smaller teams or businesses without the capacity to constantly monitor the inbox.

Activating Message Digest for Unified Inbox

  1. Head to Settings from the Homhero side menu.
  2. Select General Settings > Messaging.
  3. Turn the Message Digest toggle On. (Turning it on activates the message digest scheduler.)
  4. Message Digest Frequency - You can set up the frequency for how often you want to receive the message. Choose the interval that suits your business needs. The default is 30 mins, which can be overridden based on your requirements.
  5. Channel Type - You can include messages from specific channels or all channels: Email, SMS, Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, and Push Notifications.
  6. Send To - The default target email address will be the one set in your current notifications setting. If you’d like messages sent to additional email addresses, you can add them here. You can include multiple addresses by separating them with commas.
  7. Folder - If you only want the message digest to run on specific folders then tick the ones you need otherwise it will follow the default rules which includes all folders except the system one.
  8. Click Save.

How it helps your business
Many property managers struggle with:

  1. High message volume.

  2. Limited staff.

  3. Difficulty monitoring SMS replies and OTA messages in real time.

This leads to missed guest enquiries, which can impact service quality and booking conversion.

The Message Digest solves this by:

  1. Automatically generating a periodic email summary.

  2. Showing only unread messages.

  3. Alerting the user (or selected team members) when action is needed.

It functions as a safety net to ensure no message sits unnoticed.
