Adding a New Promotional Code

This article will provide step-by-step instructions on how to create and configure a promotional code within Homhero. Promo codes can be applied either during the booking process on your website or when manually creating a direct booking within the Homhero App. Unfortunately, you cannot add a promo code to an existing booking in Homhero.

How to add a Promotional Code

1. Click Booking Engine and then click Special Rates from the Homhero side menu
2. Click the Promotional Codes tab
3. Click Add
   
   
   
   
4. Ensure the toggle is Active
5. Enter a Promo Name
6. Enter a Promo Code. Promo codes can only include letters and numbers. Special characters such as @, #, $ are not allowed. This validation ensures the code is properly formatted and valid.
7. Enter the Min Nights of a reservation that this promotion will be available for
8. If the promotion is based on the guest receiving free nights on their reservation enter the number of Free Nights here, if the promotion is not for free nights please leave this on zero. If you're using free nights, please skip steps 10 and 11.
9. Click the days of the week that the scale is applicable for
10. If the promotion is based on a specific Discount Amount enter this amount here
11. Click the drop-down arrow and select the Discount Type:
    % Percent i.e. 10 percent off discount
    Fixed Discount Per Night i.e. $10 off per night
    Fixed Discount Per Stay i.e. $10 off per reservation
    Fixed Price Per Night i.e. $10 per night
    Fixed Price Per Stay i.e. $10 per reservation
12. Enter a Use Limit which is how many times the promotional code can be used - to make the promo unlimited, leave blank
13. Tick the checkbox called Exclusive if the promotion is not to be used with other specials
14. Use the calendar icon to select a date of when the Promo Begins or if the guest can stay for any date period leave blank.
15. Use the calendar icon to select a date of when the Promo Ends or if the guest can stay up until any date period leave blank. 
    TIP: If the promo begins on the 01/12/19 and the promo end on 31/01/20, this means the promotion only applies for reservations which are staying during this period.
16. Use the calendar icon to select a date of when the promotional code is Valid to use From or leave blank if the promotion code starts straight away
17. Use the clock icon to select a Start Time for when the promotional code applies
18. Use the calendar icon to select a date of when the promotional code is Valid to use Until or leave blank if the promotion code doesn't expire
19. Use the clock icon to select an End Time of when the promotional code expires
    TIP: If the date of the promo is valid to use from 01/08/19 and the promo is valid to use until 31/10/19, this means the promotion can only be used for reservations made during this period.
20. Click the drop-down arrow to select which type of listings apply, if the promotion applies to all types of listings leave this blank
21. Click the drop-down arrow to select which seasons apply, if the promotion applies to all seasons leave this blank
22. Click Set to select which listings can be used for this promotion or leave blank to apply to all listings.
23. Click the OTA Options tab
    
    
    
    
24. Click the toggle to make the scale Active on your Website
25. Click the toggle to make the scale Active for your Direct reservations
26. Promotional Codes are not supported on Airbnb
27. Promotional Codes are not supported on Vrbo
28. Promotional Codes are not supported on Booking.com
29. Promotional Codes are not supported on Staymakers
30. Promotional Codes are not supported on Marriott
31. Click Save
    
    

Promo Code Limitations
When using a promo code to generate quotes, the results will be limited to the first 50 listings in alphabetical order, even if there are more results. This limitation helps to prevent extended processing times due to the additional calculations required.
