This article will explain the purpose of using Seasons within your Homhero setup. Seasons, also known as Tariff Periods in RMS, are used to group the dates of current Seasons/Events/Periods where the pricing structure is different. Seasons will also make it easier to identify your pricing structures while viewing your Listing Rate Charts. Although this is an optional setup requirement and you can operate without them, we do believe Seasons are beneficial and will provide additional tools such as BRM's to help automate your rates setup.
Please follow the below steps to add a new Season:
- Click Booking Engine > Seasons from the Homhero side menu
- Click Add
- Active toggle - Turn the Active toggle
- Season Name - Enter the name of the Season
- Base Rate Multiplier - Enter a Base Rate Multiplier (BRM) %. The BRM % feature is an excellent tool used to automate the future of your rates setup. For example, during onboarding you will set your initial rates in Homhero and as each pricing structure changes e.g. every 2 years, you can simply increase your rates by adjusting your Season BRM by 5 or 10% when required. This is not mandatory, however using this feature will save your team hours of work from having to update the rates of each listing manually. Instead, this process can be done within minutes using your Season BRM.
If you are in the process of onboarding, we suggest you to set the season with your highest rate as 100% and work backwords from that. This means your highest season will have the BRM set to 100% and any additional seasons will be a lower percentage such as 90 or 80%
Please see the example below which shows how your Base Rate Multiplier would calculate from your Season using the below BRM percentages:
Base Rate
Base Rate = $1000/ night
Season BRM
Low Season 70% = $700/ night
Mid Season 80% = $800/ night
High Season 90% = $900/ night
Peak Season 100% = $1000/ night - Rate Chart Colour - Click the Rate Chart Colour to select the best colour to represent this season on listing rate charts.
