Homhero gives you the option to create additional Custom Merge fields if needed. You can set them up to apply either to a single property (area) or across all properties (global). Below, you'll find instructions for both methods.
How to create an Area Custom Merge Field
Please follow the steps below to create a custom merge field for a specific area only:
- Click Property Management from the Homhero side menu.
- Select the Areas (Room/Houses) tab.
- Edit the area you would like to create the merge field by using the pencil icon.
- Select the Custom Fields Tab.
- Use the +Add button to create a new one. You will see that Homhero will add a blank line to the list down below.
- Click once on this blank line under the Name column, enter the name of the merge field.
- Click in the green pencil to enter the text value.
- Save the text value.
- Make sure you Save again to close it.
The merge field is now created, you can head to your Schedule/Template messages and insert your new Area Custom Merge Field into a template ready for use. Please see an example below of an Area Custom Merge Field used for WIFI for a specific area only and how this appears in the email to the guest.
How to create a Global Custom Merge Field
Please follow the steps below to create a custom merge field with the same value for all your properties:
- Click Property Management from the Homhero side menu.
- Select the Properties tab.
- Edit the property you have listed below using the pencil icon.
- Select the Custom Fields Tab
- Use the +Add button to create a new one, you will see that Homhero will add a blank line to the list down below.
- Click once on this blank line under the Name column, enter the name of the merge field.
- Click in the green pencil to enter the text value.
- Save the text value.
- Make sure you Save again to close it.
The merge field is now created, you can head to your Schedule/Template messages and insert your new Global Custom Merge field into a template ready for use. Please see an example below of a Global Custom Merge Field used for linen and how this appears in the email to the guest.
