If you need to update the name of a Property/Listing or Area, you will need to consider updating several areas within RMS and Homhero as follows:
- RMS - Room Type Name
- RMS - Area Name
- RMS - GL Acc Code Name
- Homhero - Sync name changes via Property Management
- Homhero - Update Website and OTA names via Booking Engine/Listings
- Website - Sync new listing name to your Website
Please follow the below steps:
RMS
Room Type Name - This is the RMS term used for a Listing or Property
- Select Setup > Room Type/Area from the menu search
- Double click on the property from the list
- On the 'Edit Room Type' page update the 'Short Description' section with the new name
- Click Save (do not exit)

Area Name - This is the RMS term used for the physical allotment for the Property
Note: If you have labelled the Area Name as the listing address, you can ignore this step
- Click the Area tab
- Double click on the Area
- On the 'Edit Area' page update the Area section with the new name
- Click Save/Exit
- Click Save/Exit again

GL Account Code Name - This might need to be changed for reporting purposes
Note: You will only need to update the 'GL Acc Code' section if the Listing name is used here instead of a GL Account Code
- Select Setup > GL Acc Codes from the menu search
- Double click on the property from the list
- Update the GL Acc Code and/or Description with the new name
- Click Save/Exit

Homhero
Property Management - This is where you sync the changes from RMS to Homhero
- Click Property Management from the Homhero side menu
- From the Areas (Rooms/Houses) tab, click the 'SYNC AREAS' button to sync all Areas.
Alternatively it is much quicker to do a sync on individual Area itself - To sync the individual area, click the 'Sync from Trust' icon on the right of the Area
- Once the sync is complete, you will need to click the 'Refresh' button to view the new changes from RMS

Booking Engine / Listings / Website Listing Name - This is where to sync the Area name of your listing and also where to update the listing name on your website
- Click Booking Engine and select Listings from the Homhero side menu
- Click the 'Refresh' Icon to update the Area name from Property Management to the Listings page
- Once the sync is complete, double click on the Listing and update the Name. Keep in mind if you have the listing name in the Description, it would be best to update this information as well
- Upon clicking Save, you should receive a prompt to update the slug. By default this is turned off.
Note: If the listing is currently ACTIVE and is synced with your website, you should avoid changing the slug, for the reasons listed in the screenshot below. If you DO update the slug, it is recommended to also add a "301 Redirect" to your website - contact your web developer regarding this.
- Turn the 'Update Slug' toggle on only if required, otherwise leave it unchecked, then click Save Listing
- If the Slug was updated, it is currently a manual process to copy and paste the new 'Slug' into the end of the existing Website URL. This needs to be done to ensure listing links generated in schedules are correct. See example below of where to complete this:
- Click Save to update the changes

Booking Engine / Listings / OTA Listing Names - If you have recently updated your Listing name as per the previous step, this will feed through to your Airbnb and Vrbo listings. However if you would like to change the OTA listing name only, this can be completed as per the following steps:
- Airbnb - Click on the 'Airbnb Icon' to open the Airbnb Settings, update the Listing Title, then Save & Publish
- Booking.com - Click on the 'Booking.com Icon' to open the Booking.com Settings, update the Listing Title, then Save & Publish
- Vrbo - Click on the 'Vrbo Icon' to open the Vrbo Settings, update the Headline, then Save & Publish
Website
Syncing Listing name to Website
- To update the listing name on your website, you will need to login to WordPress and click Sync Listings. Alternatively, please contact Homhero Support for assistance with this step
- If your website is managed by a 3rd Party, then this should update automatically, however it might not be instant. If it's taking longer than expected, then please reach out to your web development team for assistance
