Airbnb allows you to showcase your properties accessibility features. You can now tag an image with an accessibility Airbnb type as well as other Homhero features. All features and images must meet Airbnb's guidelines.
Here is an article from Airbnb which explains the Accessibility feature definitions and photo guidelines.
Here is an article from Airbnb with a guide to photographing accessibility features.
If you try and save an Airbnb listing that has one of the following 13 accessibility amenities, and there is not an image with a matching tag in the listing images, validation of the Airbnb listing will now fail and will not be scheduled for update until the issue is resolved.
Here is a list of the Airbnb Accessible Amenities that needed to be mapped to at least one image:
- Ceiling Hoist
- Disabled Parking Spot
- Flat Smooth Pathway To Front Door
- Grab Rails In Shower
- Grab Rails In Toilet
- Home Step Free Access
- Home Wide Doorway
- Path To Entrance Lit At Night
- Pool Hoist
- Rollin Shower
- Shower Chair
- Step Free Access
- Wide Doorway
Once your features have been confirmed against Airbnb's photo guidelines, they’ll be shown on your listing’s Accessibility features section.
Please follow the below steps in order to ensure that your images are mapped correctly in Homhero to the Airbnb Accessibility Amenities, so your listing is successfully pushed through to Airbnb.
In Homhero, you will need to have your Accessibility Amenities mapped in your Master Feature list.
- In Homhero navigate to the Booking Engine > Listings > Manage > Features
- Select Add to add in a new Accessible Amenity if required. This is not required if you already have the Accessible Amenity setup in your features list
- Name your Accessibility Amenity e.g. Accessible Parking Spot, Step Free access, Pool Hoist etc.
- Map the amenity to Airbnb's list of amenities. Eg. Accessible Parking = Disable Parking Spot
(this is also a good time to map the features to other OTA's as well)
Once you have added in all Accessible Amenities you wish to map, you will then need to label the image/s which relate to the amenities you wish to show on that listing & also make sure that feature is mapped to your listing. - In Homhero, head to Booking Engine > Listings > Open the listing which has the Accessibility Amenity/s. Select the Images tab
- If you need to add in additional images, select "Add Images" and upload the images
- Once the image has been uploaded, right click and select Edit Details
- Click Set and choose the feature you set up for this particular Accessible Amenity image. A feature is selected once it is appearing on the left hand side
- Once selected, click Set to save
- Next you are going to select the Airbnb Accessibility Amenity that applies to this picture from the drop-down selection
Note: Your feature and amenity need to be matching. You cannot select multiple amenities for one image. - Click Update Image
*Repeat Steps 7-11 for any other images you need to assign accessibility amenities to - Once the above process has been completed, click the Details tab, click the Set button for your listings features. You are then going to toggle over any features that you have assigned to an image/s in the previous steps.
- Once selected (any feature on the left hand side has been selected), click Set
- Select Save
- A pop up box will appear, select "Update (Don't Remove)" from the drop-down
- Select Save Listing
You have now completed the process.
Airbnb review the images before they will display on your listing. Once your features are confirmed against Airbnb's photo guidelines, they’ll be shown on your listing’s Accessibility features section.
