General Settings - Guest Portal Settings

This article explains how to configure the Guest Portal Settings within your Homhero account. These settings control how guest registration forms behave, including options for enabling online check-in, requiring identification, collecting guest signatures, and customising form fields. Use these tools to streamline the check-in process and ensure all required information is captured before arrival.

1. Click Settings from the Homhero side menu.
2. Select General Settings > Guest Portal tab.
3. Day's Valid - How many days prior to arrival can the guests complete their Online Registration.
4. Credit Cards (Visa) - Turn this toggle ON to enable VISA credit cards to be used via the Online Registration.
5. Credit Cards (MasterCard) - Turn this toggle ON to enable Mastercard credit cards to be used via the Online Registration.
6. Credit Cards (Amex): Turn this toggle ON to enable Amex credit cards to be used via the Online Registration.
7. Force Additional Guests: Turn this toggle ON if you would like to collect the names and phone numbers of all adult guests staying with the booking. Note: It will only ask for name & phone number of any additional guests.
8. Hide Area Name - Turn this toggle ON if you do not want the physical property name to appear to the guest.
9. Enable Guest Portal Security Deposit - Turn this toggle ON if you would like to enable Security Deposit Payments or Pre-Auths to be taken via the Guest Portal.
10. Add Surcharge to Security Deposit - Turn this toggle ON if you would like surcharges to be included for Security Deposit Payments made via the Guest Portal.
11. Add Surcharge to Security Pre-Auth- Turn this toggle ON if you would like surcharges to be included for Pre-Authorisations made via the Guest Portal.
12. Check-In Portal Bond Security Text - This text will display to the guest when a security bond is applicable to the reservation. Use this text box if you would like to override the default text that displays in the online registration process.

13. PDF/Zip Password - please reach out to HomHero support if you cannot recall what you password is. If you wish to change your password, simply type in your new password. Note: any current guests online registration documents that are in HomHero will use the password at time of submission. 
14. Disable Licence Upload - Turn this toggle ON to DISABLE the guest from being able to upload their drivers licence, if required - This originally defaults to off, which will automatically allow the guest to upload their driver licence.
15. Disable Credit Card Upload - Turn this toggle ON to DISABLE the guest from being able to upload their credit card, if required - This originally defaults to off, which will automatically allow the guest to upload their credit card.
16. Email Notifications - When a guest completes their Online Registration, they will receive a confirmation email. You can customise the message that is sent to the guest upon completion of their registration.
17. Click Save.
