How to setup the Security Deposit Category

We have introduced a new ''Security Deposit'' category in the sundry settings of Homhero. When this category is activated, it ensures that all Security Deposits will be excluded from the OTA calculations. This will ensure that the reservation totals delivered to the OTA's will accurately reflect the correct total reservation costs, eliminating any chances of incorrect pricing showing to your guests.

In this new update, we look for any transaction sundry that is marked “Exclude OTA Balance” or if the transaction sundry has been marked as the ''Security Deposit'' category, then it will be excluded from any total amount delivered to the OTA's. If you have already ticked "Exclude OTA Balance'' for your Security Deposit, we highly recommend to also activate the ''Security Deposit'' category as a fail-safe.

How to setup the Security Deposit Category:

1. Click Settings from the Homhero side menu
2. Click General Settings > Sundries
3. Turn the Show Inactive toggle on
4. Search for all Security Deposit/Refundable Bond sundries that are active or inactive
5. Activate 'Security Deposit' under the Category column for each Security Deposit you have setup
6. Click Save
   
   
   

Note: We recommend all users that take a Refundable Security Deposit to make this change in Homhero. If you use Pre-Authorisations, there is nothing for you to do.
