There’s two types of fields you can create here - Review and System Booking Fields. Review Fields are designed to capture evaluative feedback, while System Booking Fields support the configuration and management of booking-related information within the system.
There are two areas where Booking, and Review fields are managed:
Property Management > Properties:
These are your Global Settings and will apply to all listings.
Property Management > Areas (Room/Houses):
These are listing specific, and will not apply to all listings.
You can view these settings here:
- Click Property Management from the left hand side menu.
- Click Properties.
- Select your Property.
- Click Booking Fields.
Review Fields
Review Fields allow you to request feedback to your guests after they have departed. Homhero will come preloaded with some Review Fields and these can be edited:
- Mandatory - This shows you if the question is mandatory or to answer or if the review can be submitted without answering it.
- Name - The name of the question.
- Reference - The reference is automatically generated once you add the name.
- Type - The type is what kind of answer needs to be given, so for example, if you are asking for accuracy the you would use a rating, but if you want Best Features, then you would use a text box for the guest to write in it.
- Module - This is where you either select Review or System fields.
- Cleaner Visible - this will not apply on Review Fields, but will apply in System Fields, as explained below.
- Green Pencil - The fields can be edited here.
- Red Trashcan - You can delete the Booking Field.

System Fields
System Fields are designed to capture additional guest-specific details, helping to effectively inform staff and cleaning teams. Examples include car registration numbers, bedding configurations, and other relevant information.
These are an internal setting that does not feed out to your Website or to the OTA's.
You can view/enter this additional information here:
- When making a new guest booking > under the Extra Information tab option
- On the guest booking > under the Config tab option
- Cleaners Portal > Under Additional Details section
To enter an area specific System question, you can add it as follows:
- Go to Property Management Tab
- For area specific, click on Area (Rooms/Houses). If you wanted the Car Registration to be apply to all listings, then you would select the Properties tab instead.
- Select the Booking Fields Tab.
- Select + Add.
- This will create a blank line.

Name - Click in the space under Name and enter the name of the Booking Field you want to create.
- Press the Green Pencil to edit the field
- The Mandatory toggle means that if you are manually entering a new booking in Homhero, you will not be able to save the booking until this is filled in.
- Cleaner Visible means that your cleaners will be able to see this on their portal, you would want this on for bedding configuration, but it is not needed for their number plate.
- Name - This comes from the name you created in step 5.
- Field Type will automatically default to System.
- Type - Select your options: Text, checkbox, select one or more, rating, multi checkbox or radio. For Bedding Config, if you choose select one, this means that when a new booking is entered, the staff member must choose the bedding configuration from one of those options. If you choose text, then the answer can be typed in and this is useful when adding in the car registration.
- Trust Mapping - please disregard this field.
- Instructions/Description - Put in the description, this is just for your reference.
- Enter Options > Add Option, for example, Bedroom 1 has 1 king bed or 2 x singles. If you tick default, then it will automatically select this without you having to enter it.
- Save
When making a new reservation, you will need to enter this information here:
- Click on Extra Information tab.
- Car Registration Field - Type in Car Registration. As Mandatory was not selected, you will be able to save the booking, without entering it.

Bedding Configuration Field - You can select the Bedding Config here. As it is asterisked, this is Mandatory and your staff will not be able to save the booking, unless this is selected.
This is how it will appear in the booking.
- Click on the Config tab.
- The selected Bedding Configuration will display here.
