General Settings - Security Deposits

This article will explain how to setup each type of Security Deposit/Bond available in Homhero.

The available Bond Types include:

• Pre-Auth: This bond type means that a preauthorisation via credit card is required.
• Final Balance (refundable): This bond type means that a refundable security deposit is required when the final balance is due.
• At Booking (refundable): This bond type means that a refundable security deposit payment will be required at time of booking.

Please follow the steps below to add a Security Deposit:

1. Click Settings from the Homhero side menu.
2. Click General Settings > Security Deposits tab.
3. Click the Add Security Deposit button.
   
   

Pre-Auth

1. Bond Name - Enter the name of the Bond e.g. Pre-Auth.
2. Bond Amount $ - Enter the Bond Amount e.g. $1000.
3. Bond Type - Select the 'Pre-Auth' bond type.
4. Sundry - This field is ignored when the 'Pre-Auth' bond type is selected.
5. Days Due Before (On Arrival) - Customise when the Bond is due before or on arrival. 
6. Special Conditions - Add special conditions about the Bond to appear in the Online Guest Registration via the Guest Portal.
7. Click Save.
   
   
   

Final Balance (refundable)

1. Bond Name - Enter the name of the Bond e.g. Refundable Bond.
2. Bond Amount $ - Enter the Bond Amount e.g. $1000.
3. Bond Type - Select the 'Final Balance' bond type.
4. Sundry - Select a Refundable Bond Sundry.  If you do not have one setup, please view our article How to create a Refundable Bond Sundry
5. Days Due Before (On Arrival) - Customise when the Bond is due before or on arrival.
6. Special Conditions - Add special conditions about the Bond to appear in the Online Guest Registration via the Guest Portal.

At Booking (refundable)

1. Bond Name - Enter the name of the Bond e.g. Refundable Bond.
2. Bond Amount $ - Enter the Bond Amount e.g. $2000.
3. Bond Type - Select the 'At Booking' bond type.
4. Sundry - Select a Refundable Bond Sundry.  If you do not have one setup, please view our article How to create a Refundable Bond Sundry
5. Days Due Before (On Arrival) - This field is ignored when the 'At Booking' bond type is selected.
6. Special Conditions - Add special conditions about the Bond to appear in the Online Guest Registration via the Guest Portal.
