How to Limit a Season to a Category

In Homhero, you do have the ability to limit a Season to a specific Category. This is useful for businesses that have an individual listing or group of listings that adhere to seasonal dates that differ from another listing within their portfolio. You can also use this feature to exclude specific listings from a season.

You might have listings in different states where the school holidays are different, example below:

• QLD School Holidays = 16th Sept - 4th Oct
• NSW School Holidays = 23rd Sept - 10th Oct

Based on this example, you would create a Category for each state. One Category called QLD and the other for NSW. Once these Categories are setup then you will need to assign these to your listings.

Please follow the below steps to learn how to assign a Category to a listing:

1. Click Booking Engine > Listings from your Homhero side menu
2. Double click on a listing to open it
   
   
   
   
3. Select Set next to Categories
   
   
   
   
4. Use the arrows to move the Category to the left hand side
5. Select Set
   
   
   
   
6. Click Save 
   
   
   
   
7. Repeat this process for additional listings that you would like to assign to this Category

After assigning your Categories to each listing, navigate to your Seasons page in Homhero as per below:

1. Click Booking Engine > Seasons from your Homhero side menu
2. Open the Season specific for QLD School Holidays
3. Select the new Category you have created from the Category drop-down e.g. QLD 
4. Click the Update Min/Max Nights checkbox if you have changed any details to do with the minimum and maximum nights
5. Click Save  
   
   
   
   
6. Repeat the same process for the NSW School Holidays

This will now restrict these Seasons to all listings that are assigned to the QLD and NSW Categories.

When you open up your listing rates calendar for your QLD or NSW Category listings, the season dates will represent the Rate Chart Colour that has been set on the Season.
