How to setup a Vrbo Commission Sundry

In Homhero, you have the ability to set up a Rate Lift to cover any commission charged by Vrbo.

The first step is to ensure a Commission Sundry is configured in RMS for Vrbo. This enables Vrbo to generate the correct commission amount to be allocated, so you can remit payment when due.

Effective 1 August 2025: If you have recently updated your GST settings in Vrbo to exclude GST from your commission, you will need to create a new Vrbo Commission Sundry and set it to GST Free.

RMS - Add GL Acc Code

1. Select Setup > Accounting > GL Acc Codes from the side menu
2. Click the Add (+) button in the top right hand corner
3. Enter 'Vrbo Commission' in the GL Acc Code section
4. Click Save/Exit
   
   
   

RMS - Add Sundry

1. Select Setup > Accounting > Sundry from the side menu
2. Click the Add (+) button in the top right hand corner
3. Enter 'Vrbo Commission' in the Description section
4. Select the 'Vrbo Commission' GL Acc Code made in the previous step
5. Select the correct GST Type that applies.
   IMPORTANT: Effective 1 August 2025, GST-registered partners may exclude the GST component from the Vrbo commission charged. If this applies to your setup, please select GST Free here.
6. Click Save/Exit
   
   
   

Homhero - Sync Sundries

1. Select Settings from the Homhero sidebar
2. Under General Settings, click Sundries
3. Click Sync From RMS
4. After the Notification appears, click the Refresh Icon to ensure the Vrbo Commission Sundry has pushed through and is visible in the Sundries List

Homhero - Link Commission Sundry

1. Under General Settings, click Booking Sources
2. Select the Vrbo Commission Sundry under the Commission Sundry column
3. Enter the Commission % that Vrbo charge you e.g. 12% (percentage before uplift).
   - 12% for GST-Registered Partners
   - 13.2% for Non GST-Registered Partners
   Note: The reason we set the commission % for Vrbo only, is due to the fact that Vrbo do not send the commission amount to Homhero when a booking is placed. Therefore we need to be able to calculate the commission on their behalf.
4. Click Save
   
   
   

In addition, you will also need to ensure you have setup the Rate Lift correctly as per below:

Homhero - Rate lift

1. Select Channel Management > Connections from the Homhero sidebar
2. Click the spanner icon in the Booking.com section
   
   
   
   
3. Click the green edit pencil to open your Default Vrbo Settings
   
   
   
   
4. Click the Pricing tab
5. Click the Rate Lift Calculator Icon
   
   
   
   
6. Enter the Vrbo Commission in the OTA Commission Amount section. Please check with Vrbo what the agreed commission amount is for your business as the figures below are examples only.
   
   NOTE: Homhero will automatically calculate the correct Rate Uplift to apply for this OTA
   
   
7. Click Use Percentage Uplift to apply the Uplift
   
   
   
   
8. Select Save
