Managing Security Deposits and Pre-Authorisations

We've improved pre-authorisations with new options and tighter security. Guests can now submit pre-auths via the guest portal, 3DS can be enabled or disabled, and stricter checks ensure the booking balance is paid before requesting a deposit. You can now configure when the pre-auth is taken, capture pre-auths and a security deposit URL merge field is available for use in SMS schedules, allowing you to link guests directly to the pre-authorisation page. With these updates, you will have the flexibility to remove the credit card upload from the online registration form entirely.

Recent updates to security deposits and pre-authorisations:

1. Ability to charge a security deposit via the guest portal.

7. Security deposit/pre-auth timing can now be configured
This change includes the ability to set the pre-auth requirement for processing 1 day after arrival. If no value is set, it will default to 0 days on arrival.

8. Security Deposit merge field
A ''security deposit URL'' merge field has been added which links directly to the pre-authorisation page. It can be included in automated schedules to provide guests with easy access to submit their security deposit or pre-authorisation.

Stricter validation now ensures security deposits can only be paid according to the deposit rules configured in Homhero.
